Accurate market data is a critical requirement for successful market modelling. The opaque nature of most European power markets requires market participants to invest heavily in the collection and analysis of market data from innovative sources. This includes such basic generation market knowledge as plant names, capacity, age, and system demand, none of which are easily available in most European markets. The Elan team has considerable experience working in European power markets, and knows better than anyone the well-'hidden' yet public sources of data. Over time we have used this knowledge to develop a full set of fully documented European data-sets. Through a process of continual refinement these datasets are kept current.
