Elan undertakes tailor-made consultancy projects
for a variety of energy market players, with a focus on power markets
in north-west Europe. We welcome the opportunity to discuss client issues
and propose an approach for the development of the required insights.
Examples of consulting projects
are set out below:
- For InterGen we acted as market consultants in the development of
an 800MW IPP CCGT in Rotterdam. This involved market modelling, asset
valuation, and financing support.
- For a north-west European distribution and retail company, we co-ordinated
and contributed to an analysis of its wholesale market risks and strategic
options for the Board.
- For a north-west European gas marketer, we undertook an analysis of
the value of a gas storage contract within their gas portfolio.
- For a European gas producer we undertook a power market scenario and
modelling exercise to develop insights into the development of the UK/Irish,
north-west European, Iberian and Italian markets.
- For a European gas producer, we undertook a full review of the Dutch
gas market in support of a contract price review.
- For a bidder for Reliant’s UNA assets we acted as market advisor.
This included price projection, market modelling, and bidding support.
- For a Dutch supply/distribution company we undertook a risk management
review. This concerned risk management systems, procedures and organisational
aspects.
- For a north-west European oil major pursuing the redevelopment of
an oil field, we performed a Dutch power market study
- For a large north-west European player we performed a portfolio valuation
of the Dutch generation players
